GALE Overview
GALE is a comprehensive research platform that allows users to search across multiple databases simultaneously, making it an excellent resource for in-depth research. You can also search an individual database alone, such as Gale OneFile: Fine Arts, for more focused results.
Steps to Search on GALE
Cross Search:
1.Click on Cross Search to search all GALE databases.
2.The cross search field will open in the middle of the page.
3.Enter the artist’s name in the search field.
4.Add a second keyword (e.g., "exhibition reviews," "writings," or "critique") to refine your search.
Filter and Refine Results:
•The search results are grouped by category. For example, when you click on Academic Journals, only journal articles will be displayed.
Browse and Access Articles:
1.Click on the title of an article to open it.
2.On the top right, you have the option to cite and download the article.
Citation help
Use GALE's citation tool to cite in APA 7th edition.
- Open the article.
- Click the quotation mark icon to generate the citation (on the top).
- Double-check the reference:
- Ensure the title is in sentence case (only the first word and proper nouns are capitalized).
- Do NOT include the URL in the electronic citation at the end.
